What Your Donation Does
Your donated vehicle goes through a full inspection and certification at our partner shop, Effective Autobody. If it passes, it is matched to the BC family with the most demonstrated need. If it cannot be certified, it is sold for parts and the proceeds fund repairs for other vehicles. Either way, your donation moves someone forward.
How To Donate
Email info@effectivecare.ca to arrange a drop-off time. Tell us the make, model, year, and condition of your vehicle.
Bring your vehicle registration (in your name), a valid BC photo ID, and the keys. Remove your licence plates and cancel your Autoplan insurance before arriving. If your vehicle is not running, contact us to discuss towing options.
We complete the ICBC ownership transfer on site. We issue your CRA tax receipt by email within 1 week. We take it from there.
Once your vehicle is placed, your "See Your Car" dashboard activates. With the family's consent, you receive anonymized updates showing how your car is still moving someone forward.
Every dollar funds inspection, repair, and placement. The average cost to place one vehicle is approximately $840 CAD.
