No one is favoured by connection or circumstance. Every application is reviewed against the same rubric. No credit check, no immigration status requirement, no past legal history disqualifier — only demonstrable need and the ability to operate a vehicle.

Individuals with a new verified address who need transportation to build stability and pursue employment consistently.

Those facing physical or economic barriers to vehicle ownership, for whom a car represents meaningful independence and access to services.

The Need Score

How we decide who gets a car.

Every applicant is scored across six weighted factors. The result is a need score out of 100. The highest-scoring compatible applicant is matched to the available vehicle.

Household income (25%)

Measured as a percentage of the area median income. Lower income = higher score on this factor.

Number of dependents (20%)

Children and other dependents in the household who rely on the applicant for transportation.

💼

Employment / job search (20%)

Active employment or verified job search activity. A car is most impactful when it enables work.

Commute need (15%)

Distance to workplace or school versus available transit. Higher distance + poor transit = higher score.

Housing stability (10%)

Duration at verified address. Stable housing is required; this factor rewards sustained stability.

🎖

Special status (10%)

Veteran status, disability, or transition out of homelessness within the past 12 months.
